Birthday Love!

Today is a big day. In a cool turn of events, my cousins Hannah and MacHenry share the same birthday.  Well, it is cool to the rest of us, though Hannah recalls crying her eyes out in the bathtub the day MH was born. Having to share HER day? No bueno. We are nothing if not dramatic, folks.

I love these two so much.

Little Mac is celebrating the big 7. My favorite MacHenry story? He and his family were on the way to the beach last year and my grandfather called to check in and see how their drive was going. My grandfather asked MacHenry and his brother, John David, what all they were going to do at the beach. John David went on and on about how he was going to swim in the ocean and build lofty sandcastles and find seashells. MacHenry shouted from the back of the car: 'NOT ME, POPPA! I'M GETTING A TATTOO!' ... ha! His parents have a lot to look forward to :) He is absolutely the funniest kid and I love watching him grow up.

My sweet Hannah Lucille turns 16. 1-6. holy cow. She provides our family with so much laughter.. like the time she told us that her trip to Disney World was ruined by her fear of a possible heart condition. The signs that read 'warning: do not ride this if you have suspect you have an unknown heart condition' scared her so bad that she refused to get on any rides. HA! Girl is as healthy as a cucumber salad, just a wee bit, well.. special. (I know, and now she's behind the wheel.. uh oh!) She is a joy to be around and I love the friendship that is growing between us as we get older. I always wanted a sister and I feel like I got one in her!

I love you both and I am so thankful for the special spark you bring to our family! Wish I could be there to help you celebrate, but I'm thinking about you both!!

Hi, Lee!

Your mom and I work together at the SDE and she sent me your blog link today. Love it! I blog too so she shared :0)

Your mom is fantabulous...but, I know you already know that!

I also have worked with your Grandaddy Mac for years at the Legislature... I love him and Mary Lee to pieces! I hate that I won't get to see him down there.

As a side note...my best friend is Leigh Burnett (Donny's wife) so I've got a bit of inside knowledge about Bob & Hootie too...LOL!

I grew up in New Jersey (Jersey Shore to be exact...yes, that one...LOL!). I have always loved going to NYC and I think it's AWESOME you are there...no place like it in the world! Man, I miss me some real bagels and pizza!

Hope you have a great day...and WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!

my favorite hannah story is when we kept her when she was about 5. i was in the bathtub and she was asking me tons of questions! our conversation went like this:

H: Aunt JoJo, what is your last name?
Me: McIntosh

H: No, your other last name.

Me: You mean Gipson? Honey, that is my maiden name.

H: Why don't you have that one anymore?

Me: Well, when I married Uncle David, I gave it up and now I use his last name.

H: Ugh!!! GIRLS JUST HAVE TO GIVE UP EVERYTHING!!!!

Ha, ha, ha!!! I love Her!

and, I love you very much too! We miss you and have been thinking of you up there in all that snow and slush. Hang in there!
