a snuggly saturday

After a night out with a friend, I popped in Borders to peruse the sale bins (hows that for a posh NYC Friday night?). I don't know about you, but I have this love affair with buying books. I am trying to limit my book-purchasing until I actually make it through the stack of un-reads on my night stand, but sometimes I just get the urge.

I found a spot to sit and I skimmed the titles until my eyes found the one. I was a little distracted at first (thanks to the couple behind me who proceeded to read a book of sexual positions ALOUD), but I managed to focus and my eyes eventually locked in to one titled 'Breaking Free'. I've heard about it plenty, but this time I saw it with fresh eyes. It stood out. I guess it's because in this season of newness and renewal, there are a lot of things I feel I need to 'break free' from.

So this is how I spent my morning, curled up, reading about the history of captivity that has bound His people.

".. Sometimes I wonder why He continues to be so faithful. Yes, he is faithful to chastise, or how would we learn from our rebellion? But He is also so compassionate in His comfort."

A peaceful, perfect way to spend a Saturday.. snuggled up with Truth.
